About Oliver's Climate Notebook
I’m Oliver Marchand, a long-time climate data expert, co-founder of Carbon Delta (a climate fintech startup acquired my MSCI Inc. in 2019), and part of the team that helped bring climate risk and impact analytics into mainstream finance.
This blog is my space to share some of my experiences with managing climate data and creating decision-useful tools.
I write about:
- The intersection of climate science, data, energy, policy, and finance
 - Book and report reviews that shape the way we think about risk and impact
 - Macro views on where the climate transition is headed
 - My learnings about climate adaptation
 - And occasional deep dives into analysis, trends, and curiosities from the frontier of climate data
 - Data tips and coding tutorials for those navigating climate datasets

My goal is to make complex ideas approachable — to help practitioners see how to use climate data and how to interpret it properly. If you believe that good climate data can help make better decisions, you’ll feel at home here.
